Family life is filled with daily moments of happiness, both big and small. However, Quebec parents face many challenges. Using a compassionate yet firm approach, the Nous, parents initiative aims to support parents so they feel more understood, confident, valued, and equipped in their role, while acknowledging their reality.
Through an advertising campaign and a dedicated website, parents are guided—without judgment—toward engaged and balanced parenting, promoting the development and well-being of their children as well as that of the whole family. This initiative is made possible with the financial support of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, along with the collaboration of a committee of experts and a broad support network.
Nous, parents highlights the importance of self-care for parents—an often overlooked yet essential aspect of fulfilling parenthood. What’s more, the ability of parents to recognize, understand, and regulate their emotions is key to (re)establishing their balance and better fulfilling their parental role.
Every child is unique, and every family has its own story. Nous, parents is here to help you live yours more fully.
Because parenting is a lifelong learning process, parents are encouraged to let go of perfection, focus on what truly matters by trusting themselves more, and learn from both their successes and mistakes. Most importantly, they are reminded to seek support and use available resources, without putting added pressure on themselves. To help parents better navigate their journey, NousParents.ca offers practical advice and a directory of reliable resources and services for parents, most of which are free.
We often hear that it takes a village to raise a child. But it also takes a village to support a parent. That’s why Nous, parents was created!
