Montréal, December 28, 2015 – The Quit to Win! Challenge is back, inviting Quebec smokers to take up the challenge of their lifetime: quit smoking for at least 6 weeks, from March 1 to April 11, 2016. Registration is open until March 1 at quitchallenge.ca.
Not surprisingly, quitting smoking often tops lists of New Year’s resolutions: surveys show that the majority of smokers want to butt out. “Their motivations vary, from health to savings or wanting to overcome an addiction. This year, with the new tobacco law coming into effect, smokers have even more reason to quit since smoking will be banned in more public places. And the Challenge, a proven and effective method, is the perfect ally to help them succeed,” explains Dr. Christiane Laberge, the campaign’s spokesperson.
In fact, since its inception, over 400,000 smokers of all ages have participated in the Quit to Win! Challenge. On average, 2 out of 3 participants succeed in not smoking during the 6 weeks of the campaign, considered the ideal period of time to change a habit. Moreover, quitting completely for a predetermined amount of time is a decisive factor for long-term cessation. So, why not give it a try? After all, it’s free and it works!
The online Profile has been completely revamped to improve user experience. Everyone who signs up for the Challenge gets exclusive access to their personal Profile, for the entire year, which features support tools such as a game plan where they can record their motivations, a journal, and a savings calculator. They can also find information, tips and download tools to help them quit.
Participants can also pick up the free Jean Coutu Quit Kit and sign up for motivational emails sent based on their cessation date.
Finally, in addition to contributing to their health, participants get the chance to win one of several prizes, including one of the 2 trips to the sun destination of Punta Cana, courtesy of Transat and the Majestic Elegance Hotel and the Majestic Colonial Hotel in Punta Cana.
The Quit to Win! Challenge will take place from March 1 to April 11, 2016. Register at quitchallenge.ca.
